Bad Luck Brian meme sold as NFT for 20 ETH

The author of the ‘Bad Luck Brian’ meme, Ian Davis, and Kyle Craven, depicted in the image, resold the original photo as a non-fungible token (NFT) on the Foundation platform for 20 ETH ($35,760 at the time of writing).

The lot went under the hammer to an unknown bidder as part of a series of 2010s meme-themed NFT auctions. Earlier the creator of the rainbow cookie-cat, Chris Torres sold the Nyan Cat animation for 300 ETH (about $536,000 at the time of writing).

In March, NFT-copy of the burned Banksy artwork titled «Morons» went under the hammer for 228.69 ETH. Former DC Comics artist José Delbo earned $1.85 million from selling non-fungible tokens featuring Wonder Woman.

As noted, the British auction house Christie’s sold Beeple’s NFT titled “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” for $69.3 million.

Earlier, an unknown bought one of the nine Alien CryptoPunk 7804 NFTs for 4,200 ETH (about $7.5 million at the time of writing). The NFT was released in 2017.
