The Bank of Russia has formed the first pilot group to test the digital ruble, comprising 12 banks.

It includes Sberbank, Tinkoff Bank, VTB, Rosbank, Promsvyazbank, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, Ak Bars Bank, bank \”DOM.RF\”, SKB-Bank, bank \”Soyuz\”, and TKB Bank.

The development of the digital ruble platform prototype is planned to be completed in December, with testing to begin in January 2022. It will take place in several stages over the course of the year. On the basis of this work, a roadmap for implementing the digital ruble will be formed.

In the first phase, the emission of the digital ruble and a number of other operations will be tested.

According to a SKOLKOVO-RESH survey, half of Russians are ready to use the digital ruble.
