Bitcoin breaks above $20,000 as Ethereum nears $1,400

In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin rose more than 8%, returning to levels above $20,000.

As of writing, the cryptocurrency is trading around $20,250.

The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization moved closer to the $1,400 level, near which it last traded on September 21.

The largest gain in the last 24 hours was Uniswap’s UNI token — up 18.1%. Solana (SOL) and Polkadot (DOT) rose 8.9%.

Total market capitalization reached $1.01 trillion, according to CoinGecko.

According to on-chain analysts Glassnode, short-term investors are currently facing significant losses. Hodlers remain resilient, and many metrics point to a market-cycle detox. Earlier on September 21, Bitcoin reacted with a sharp correction to the Federal Reserve’s rate hike.
