Bitcoin hits fresh all-time high above $28,500

On Wednesday, December 30, the price of the largest cryptocurrency rose above $28,500, hitting a new all-time high.

The previous price record at the level of $28,335 was set by Bitcoin on Sunday, December 27.

In early trading on Wednesday, Bitstamp quotes briefly surged to $28,568.

In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin rose 7.4%, and over the past week—19.6%.

The market capitalisation of the first cryptocurrency stood at $530 billion at the time of writing, and the dominance index was 69.2%.
