Criminal police officers задержали a 21-year-old from Irkutsk for stealing Bitcoin-mining equipment. The damage was estimated at 120,000 rubles.
According to investigators, the offender broke a wall in a garage and removed an unspecified number of ASIC miners. He later planned to resell the stolen goods.
The suspect’s identity was established by surveillance footage.

A criminal case has been opened into the theft. The Irkutsk resident was remanded in custody until trial.
In Irkutsk Oblast, mining equipment thefts are not uncommon. Recently, local law enforcement detained suspects accused of stealing 20 devices with a total value of about 2 million rubles.
In May, a suspect in a theft of miners worth half a million rubles was identified. In April, three locals stole from a bathhouse a mining farm worth 600,000 rubles.
