Bitcoin price breaches the $55,000 mark

Bitcoin price reached the $55,555 level. At the time of writing, the asset was trading at around $53,800.

Bitcoin’s market capitalization surpassed $1 trillion, and the overall cryptocurrency market cap approached $2.4 trillion, according to CoinGecko.

Ethereum price rose above $3,600.

Earlier, SEC Chair Gary Gensler said the regulator does not plan to ban cryptocurrencies. He also called this the prerogative of Congress.

Don Fitzpatrick, CEO of Soros Fund Management, confirmed that George Soros’s family office invested in bitcoin.

Cryptocurrency analyst Benjamin Cowen stated that the price of digital gold will never fall below $10,000. According to him, the bears should abandon this pink dream.
