
Bitfinex-hacked bitcoins move again
Hackers again moved bitcoins stolen from Bitfinex in 2016 to unknown addresses. Whale Alert noted nine transactions totaling more than $30 million.

The transfers were valued at between 389.94 BTC ($4.1 million) and 485.11 BTC ($4.8 million). Against this backdrop, two transactions were relatively modest — 1.166206 BTC ($12,387) and 8.27394 BTC ($87,181).

The Bitfinex exchange hack occurred on 2 August 2016. In total, the attackers stole 119,756 BTC ($71.8 million at the then-current rate).
In May, Whale Alert logged the first movement of stolen funds in 2020. The attackers sent 30.667192 BTC to anonymous addresses.
In August, to unknown wallets, via separate transactions were sent 4571 BTC and 473.3183 BTC.
