Bitget Launches Initiative to Promote Gender Equality in Web3

On January 16, 2024, cryptocurrency exchange Bitget introduced Blockchain4Her, a program aimed at enhancing gender diversity within the blockchain industry.

Despite the industry’s growth and increasing inclusivity, gender inequality persists. According to Bitget’s research, female startup leaders receive only 6% of total funding.

Blockchain4Her builds on the success of the Blockchain4Youth project, which focused on educating young people about blockchain technology. It introduces several initiatives to improve gender balance in the industry:

• incubation programs providing mentorship and resources;
• a startup pitch competition to attract investment;
• a “Women in Blockchain” summit to foster professional connections;
• guidance from program ambassadors.

“In a rapidly developing industry, diversity and inclusivity are crucial for sustainable growth. We aim to empower women to take on leadership roles in Web3 companies. This initiative aligns with our broader vision of creating a more equitable future through blockchain technology,” shared Bitget’s Managing Director, Gracy Chen.

Bitget is a crypto exchange serving over 20 million users across more than 100 countries and regions. The platform offers spot and futures trading, a multi-chain crypto wallet, and an NFT marketplace.

Earlier, Bitget reported a 94% increase in spot trading for 2023.
