Bitmain sells 3,000 Antminer S19 miners to a U.S. company with deliveries through August 2021

VBit Technologies purchased 3,000 Antminer S19 series ASIC miners from the Chinese manufacturer Bitmain for more than $8 million.

In December, the Philadelphia-based firm will receive 117 units of Antminer S19. Thereafter, deliveries will be made monthly, “with hundreds of S19-series models,” through August 2021, according to the release.

Industry journalist Colin Wu noted that the deal demonstrates demand for Bitmain’s products, the futures on which have been sold for such a long duration, in the context of high expectations for Bitcoin.

This shows that Bitmain futures have been sold until August next year, indicating strong demand in the context of high expectations for Bitcoin.

VBit Technologies, after receiving the equipment, expects to increase its mining hash rate by more than 50%. According to the company’s website, its data centres are located in Colorado and the Canadian province of Alberta.

Irene Gao, Bitmain’s head of sales for North, Central and South America (NCSA), said that VBit is a long-standing client.

“With the new equipment, VBit will be able to continue its expansion in North America and make Bitcoin mining mainstream. The company hopes for a long-term partnership with Bitmain for many years,” said Dan Woo, CEO of VBit Technologies.

Earlier, Bitmain sold 10,000 Antminer S19 Pro to the American company Marathon Patent Group with delivery scheduled for January 2021.
