
Bloomberg: Blockchain.com valued at $14 billion after funding round
The exchange and cryptocurrency wallet provider Blockchain.com closed a funding round for an undisclosed amount. Based on its results, the company’s valuation reached $14 billion, Bloomberg reports.
The funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The financing was also provided by Baillie Gifford and other investors.
In March 2021 the firm was valued at $5.2 billion.
According to the company’s website, its services are used by 37 million users across 200 countries. About a third of Bitcoin transactions pass through 82 million wallets opened on the platform.
Earlier, Chief Financial Officer Makrina Kigl did not rule out an IPO in 2023.
As reported, in March 2022 Blockchain.com acquired the OTC platform Altonomy for $250 million.
Earlier, the company announced the launch of an NFT marketplace.
