Bloomberg: Marvel and DC prohibit artists from selling their characters as NFTs

Marvel Comics and DC Comics have barred comic authors from selling their works as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Bloomberg reports.

According to the publication, both companies plan to use their character and comic-book collections on the NFT market. In June Marvel announced a collaboration with the VeVe platform.

In March, former DC Comics writer José Delbo, together with crypto artists Hackatao earned $1.85 million from selling NFTs featuring Wonder Woman.

Later, Jay Kogan, Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs at DC Comics, with a demand to desist from selling non-fungible tokens.

In April, comic-book artist Neil Adams, known for shaping modern DC character designs, released his own NFT series.
