Germany’s Bundesliga has struck a deal with collectible-maker Topps to release the first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) featuring the league’s top players from the 2020–2021 season.

The Avalanche blockchain collection will also feature rising stars and key moments from the Bundesliga season. The NFT trading cards, ranging from Common to Legendary, will go on sale on August 10.
“There are moments and players in every season that captivate and deserve admiration,” said Robert Klein, CEO of Bundesliga International.
In April, Topps released the first official MLB card series in the form of non-fungible tokens.
In June, Canadian Bayern Munich footballer Alphonso Davies unveiled his own NFT collection on the Binance marketplace.
