Ebang to mine Bitcoin on its own equipment

A major Chinese ASIC-miner manufacturer, Ebang, plans to open a mining facility for Bitcoin.

The company plans to use both its own equipment and miners from other manufacturers, and to lease computing power from third-party farms.

It will also build data centres for the mining installations.

The management expects the new venture to boost revenues and optimise its product mix.

In late 2020, Ebang said it was ready to begin public testing of its cryptocurrency exchange and to launch it officially in the first quarter of 2021.
