Elon Musk forms AI company to rival OpenAI

The billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has registered a new artificial intelligence company named X.AI. The Financial Times reports this.

The company was registered on March 9, 2023, in the state of Nevada. According to documents, Musk himself is named as the head of the startup, and the secretary is former Morgan Stanley banker Jared Birchall, who manages the billionaire’s funds.

According to media reports, the company’s director is currently assembling a team of researchers and engineers, and has also purchased ten thousand GPUs needed to train neural networks.

In addition, the billionaire is in talks with a number of investors regarding financing the new startup.
