FIFA President Considers Launching Native Token
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is exploring blockchain technology and the potential launch of its own token to engage with its global fan base, according to its president, Gianni Infantino.
The head of the organization was among the participants at the crypto summit in the White House.
“FIFA is very interested in developing FIFA Coin to capture 5 billion fans worldwide,” Infantino stated.
U.S. President Donald Trump supported the head of the federation, noting that “the token could eventually be valued higher than FIFA itself.”
The next FIFA World Cup in 2026 will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The community decided to get ahead of FIFA and created several tokens with the same name, some of which have already turned out to be scams. One of them surged by 357,000% after the summit.

Back in November, the studio Mythical Games and FIFA announced the launch of the officially licensed mobile game FIFA Rivals—a football arcade with NFT cards. The tokens will be issued on the Mythos network based on Polkadot.
In October, a survey by Elympics revealed that the complexity of cryptocurrency payments was a barrier to the popularization of blockchain games.
