Figma to Integrate Google’s Gemini AI

Figma partners with Google to integrate AI features.

The design platform Figma has announced a partnership with Google to integrate new AI-based features.

Previously, the platform had launched its own AI tools for app creation. Now, several Gemini models will be added to the software to “meet the evolving needs of product designers and their teams.”

As part of the collaboration, Figma will feature Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.0, and Imagen 4.

Gemini 2.5 Flash will be used for editing and generating images. This will enable the platform’s 13 million active monthly users to create AI illustrations using text prompts and make edits to them.

The company claims that the new feature will speed up workflows: during testing, users reported a 50% reduction in the delay of the Make Image function.

The announcement of the firms’ collaboration coincided with the release of Gemini Enterprise, Google’s AI-based corporate platform. It is designed to integrate AI into workflows.

The solution will allow interaction with company documents, data, and applications in a conversational format. Developers can create and deploy AI agents or use ready-made solutions.

Google emphasized that 65% of Google Cloud customers already use its AI-based products. It also announced new partnerships with GAP, Gordon Foods, Klarna, Macquarie Bank, Melexis, Mercedes, Signal Iduna, Valiuz, and Virgin Voyages. They join Banco BV, Behr, Box, DBS Bank, Deloitte, Deutsche Telekom, FairPrice Group, the U.S. Department of Energy, and others using Gemini.

In October, OpenAI introduced a new feature allowing the creation of applications directly within ChatGPT. Users can now interact directly with services like Booking․com, Expedia, Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow, Canva, and others.
