French retailers to accept bitcoin payments through Binance–Ingenico partnership

Binance, the bitcoin exchange, and Ingenico, a card-processing services company, have launched a pilot program to process cryptocurrency payments via Binance Pay.

In the first phase, the option will be tested on Ingenico Axium payment terminals in France, at the Le Carlie cocktail bar and the Miss Opéra women’s clothing store.

Users will have access to more than 50 cryptocurrencies. Initially, merchants will receive payments in digital assets, and from the second quarter of 2023 the additional solution will enable converting them to fiat.

In the future, the program will expand to European countries where Binance has a license to operate, including Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus, Poland and Sweden.

Earlier in January, Binance, in partnership with Mastercard, announced plans to issue a prepaid card in Brazil.
