Google unveiled a handwriting-recognition feature for doctors at its annual conference in India. TechCrunch reports.
The algorithm will be integrated into the Google Lens app. Users will be able to photograph a prescription or upload it from their library to decode the handwritten text.
After processing the image, the app detects medications mentioned in the note.
The company did not specify when they plan to release the feature publicly.
According to Google representatives, India has the largest Lens user base in the world.
The company is also developing a single unified model that covers more than 100 Indian languages for speech and text.
In November, Google announced the rollout of navigation in Live View with augmented reality in Maps.
In October, the tech giant acquired the avatar-creation startup Alter for $100 million.
In September, Google announced plans to update the engine for text-to-speech Speech Services on Android devices.
