Head of RUE ‘Chornomorenergo’ Mikhail Logua signed an order for ‘the immediate shutdown of all active mining farms’ in Abkhazia.
According to the document, all mining farms must be disconnected by December 29, 2020.
Also in ‘Chornomorenergo’ it was decided to ‘cut cables and wires on the 6/10 kV line’ and verify the documentation — in the event of mining by legal entities or individuals under ‘the issued technical conditions for other activities, those technical conditions will be annulled’.
The order places on the heads of branches of ‘Chornomorenergo’ and ‘Energosbyt’ personal responsibility for ‘unauthorized technological connection to the power grids of all subscribers for the purposes of mining cryptocurrencies’. In case of non-compliance they will be fired.
Earlier in December, Abkhaz authorities announced the shutdown of all mining farms on the republic’s territory until June 1, 2021.
Since then, local law enforcement have been pursuing mining farms and already disconnected thousands of devices.
