Irkutsk law-enforcement authorities identified suspects accused of a series of thefts of mining equipment. Information is reported on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website.
According to investigators, the suspects stole cryptocurrency mining devices from an office, as well as equipment located on the balcony of a multi-apartment building.
During searches of one suspect’s garage, law enforcement found part of the stolen items, and identified a “channel for the sale of machines,” where around twenty stolen devices were recovered.
The losses amounted to about 2 million rubles.
A criminal case has been opened for theft on an especially large scale. Two members of the group have been arrested; the others remain under house arrest.
Earlier in Crimea, two suspects were arrested who were buying cryptocurrency-mining equipment with counterfeit money.
