In the Samara region, authorities probe fraud by Finiko employees amounting to 6 million rubles

The Samara region’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened eight criminal cases of fraud against Finiko employees.

As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ press service, between July 2020 and July 2021, under the pretext of obtaining high returns from investments in an “automated profit-generation system”, the employees embezzled more than 6 million rubles from local residents.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are seeking victims of Finiko’s activities.

Earlier, the Russian Interior Ministry reported that the amount of damages claimed by victims in the pyramid case exceeded 1 billion rubles.

According to Chainalysis, the analytical company, Finiko collected over $1.5 billion in Bitcoin from investors in Eastern Europe.
