In the United States, a license plate paired with an NFT is listed for 5,888 ETH ($25.6 million at the time of writing).

In California, a physical license plate bearing the letters “MM” is being sold in tandem with an NFT, which выставлен on the OpenSea marketplace. The price of the set is 5,888 ETH ($25.6 million at the time of writing).

In 2017, local authorities разрешили owners of license plates their resale. In California, license plates use from two to seven characters — two are the rarest, and repeating characters are especially valued.

The MM plate, according to its dedicated site, is literally “one in a million”, given the total number of registered vehicles in the state (35 million).

On the back of the plate is printed a QR code of a non-fungible token. If the owner finds a buyer, the number would become the most valuable in automotive history — currently the leader is the ‘1’ sign in Abu Dhabi, sold for $14.2 million.

Judging by the account of the owner, the plate is mounted on a McLaren 765 LT. According to the press, the price of the supercar is far below the plate — $375,000.

Earlier, the Waves.tech ecosystem sold an NFT token for the highest price among such deals outside the Ethereum blockchain — 1 million USDN.

In October, the owner of a CryptoPunk NFT sold it to themselves for 24,457 ETH ($532 million at the time of the transaction).
