
Mark Zuckerberg confirms imminent NFT rollout on Instagram
Founder and head of Meta (formerly Facebook) Mark Zuckerberg confirmed at SXSW rumours that non-fungible tokens (NFTs) would appear on the social network Instagram.

According to Zuckerberg, the NFT-creation feature could appear on Instagram in the coming months. He did not specify a precise date for the deployment of the technology.
The head of the company also signalled the possibility of NFTs based on the clothing of users’ digital avatars in the future.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported on Meta’s plans to integrate non-fungible tokens into Instagram and Facebook, as well as the company’s development of an NFT marketplace.
In December 2021, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the company was ‘actively studying NFTs’, but did not disclose details.
Earlier, in January 2022, the social network Twitter integrated the ability to add NFTs as profile avatars.
