
Twitter adds NFT profile-picture verification.
Twitter has integrated the ability to add NFTs as profile avatars. The option is available on iOS to subscribers of the premium Twitter Blue service after linking an Ethereum wallet to the account.

Developers have allowed support for other blockchains.

Technically, when selecting the image you must indicate “NFT”, then connect a wallet and choose one of the available non-fungible tokens.
Verified avatars have a distinctive hexagonal shape. It appears across all platforms. Avatars of users whose NFT has not been verified remain in the standard circular frame.
A Twitter account with the NFT profile picture feature displays token data—the creator, its specific properties and characteristics, the blockchain and the standard.
The initiative was implemented based on the API of the NFT marketplace OpenSea.
Currently, support is available for Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask, Rainbow, Argent, Trust, and Ledger Live.
As noted, Twitter announced the NFT verification system in September 2021.
Earlier, users of the social network gained the ability to accept donations through the Lightning Network.
In January, media reported that Meta plans to integrate NFTs into Facebook and Instagram.
