Mexican billionaire urges investment in Bitcoin

One of the richest men in Mexico and founder of the Grupo Salinas conglomerate, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, in his New Year address urged followers to buy Bitcoin.

Stay away from fiat money. The dollar, euro, yen, peso — all the same. These are not real money, made of paper and lies. Central banks print more money than ever. Invest in Bitcoin,” he said.

The billionaire added that humanity would prosper through freedom, innovation and competition. He also urged people not to envy and to steer clear of envious individuals.

In November 2020 Ricardo Salinas Pliego invested 10% of his liquid portfolio in Bitcoin.

In February 2021 the billionaire added the hashtag of Bitcoin to the description of his Twitter account. In June he urged everyone to invest in Bitcoin.

As noted, billionaire Ray Dalio called Bitcoin ‘alternative money’, and fiat money — ‘garbage’ and a problematic asset.
