Mining equipment worth 1 million rubles stolen from a Russian man’s garage
A resident of the Tyumen region reported to the police a theft of cryptocurrency-mining equipment valued at more than 1 million rubles, according to the МВД.
During the investigation, law enforcement officials found that the theft was carried out by a local resident who had been handling the claimant’s household waste disposal and noticed a large amount of equipment in the garage.
At night he broke into the premises and stole 11 mining devices. Some of the stolen items he took to Yekaterinburg and handed over to a consignment shop, while another portion he sent to acquaintances for later sale.
Officials detained the suspect and seized the stolen property, which will be returned to its owner soon. A criminal case has been opened for theft.
Earlier in August, a Kursk resident had 30 graphics cards stolen for cryptocurrency mining.
