Nvidia, the maker of graphics cards and chips, did not rule out resuming production of GPUs for cryptocurrency mining. This was stated by Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress in the company’s blog.

If demand rises to a meaningful level, according to Kress, the company will resume production of GPUs without video outputs to lower costs.

According to Nvidia’s vice president, high demand for graphics cards from gamers exceeds current supply. The company does not yet regard miners as material to the business.

Since the end of 2020, the price of GPUs has risen on average by $100. According to some media reports, there is already a shortage of certain models on the market.

Interest from miners in GPUs is explained by Ethereum rising to $1300.

Back in late 2020, Bitcoin miners’ revenues reached $1 million per hour.
