PancakeSwap Adds Support for Linea Network

The non-custodial exchange PancakeSwap deployed the third version of the protocol on the Ethereum mainnet of the Layer 2 Linea.

According to the developers’ statement, the integration will help users reduce gas fees, speed up transactions, and improve capital efficiency.

In the L2 network, swap and liquidity-provision functions in Linea-based pools are now available. In the coming months, the project team will also implement token farming capabilities.

Linea uses zero-knowledge proof technology (ZK-Rollups). The platform is fully compatible with EVM — it supports mainnet code, and developers can use existing tools and infrastructure.

The ConsenSys team launched the mainnet alpha version in June 2023. The project’s ecosystem has more than 100 protocols.

Originally operating solely on BNB Chain, PancakeSwap also supports Ethereum, Aptos, Polygon zkEVM, zkSync Era and Arbitrum.

The decentralised exchange has already collaborated with the Linea team within the testnet.

Against the backdrop of the project’s expansion, the native PancakeSwap token (CAKE) rose 1.8% to $1.287.

In April, the launch of PancakeSwap’s protocol’s third version occurred. In particular, developers implemented the concept of concentrated liquidity.

From August 9, CAKE stakers with fixed lock-up periods receive 5% of the trading fees in the protocol weekly.
