Renowned hockey star Alexander Ovechkin to release NFT collection

Captain of the NHL‘s Washington Capitals, Alexander Ovechkin, in partnership with the sports blockchain platform Blockasset, will release a collection of 2,000 NFT. ForkLog was told this by company representatives.

The NFT will be based on works by digital artist Dosbrak depicting the highlights of Ovechkin’s career.

\n\n

The tokens will form part of The Legends NFT collection, created in partnership with five global sporting stars.

\n\n

Earlier, boxer Alexander Usyk, basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and other athletes named three token heroes, among them footballer Wayne Rooney, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and rugby union player Jonah Lomu. The last participant of the project will be announced later this week.

\n\n

In total, 10,000 collectible tokens will be released under The Legends.

\n\n

Blockasset plans to run lotteries for NFT holders, raffling tickets to matches and prizes, including travel and accommodation for winners.

\n\n

Earlier, boxer Alexander Usyk, basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and other athletes announced launches of their own NFT collections on various platforms.
