Resident of Mari El Republic jailed for four years for theft of mining rig worth 600,000 rubles
The court found a resident of Mari El guilty of fraud in connection with the theft of mining equipment.
As reported by прокуратуре Ульяновской области, the offender arranged to purchase a mining rig from a Gelendzhik resident. The shipment of the goods was via Ul’yanovsk.
The fraudster proposed to his acquaintance to obtain the equipment using forged documents, after which the criminals fled.
The loss to the seller amounted to 600,000 rubles.
Subsequently, law enforcement identified the perpetrators. The resident of Mari El received four years in a general-regime penal colony, and his accomplice — 2.5 years’ suspended sentence.
Earlier, a resident of Irkutsk Oblast became a victim of criminals, attempting to acquire mining equipment for cryptocurrency mining.
