Russian woman duped by scammer selling bitcoins via Telegram

A 38-year-old woman from Abakan lost almost 100,000 rubles while attempting to buy bitcoins. The сообщает site of the local police.

A Russian woman interacted with a cryptocurrency seller via Telegram. To complete the deal, the scammer asked her to transfer about 96,000 rubles, after which she deleted the chat with the victim and stopped responding.

A criminal case has been opened.

Earlier in Russia, authorities uncovered cryptocurrency fraud worth more than half a million rubles.
