According to the press release, CC2 will significantly reduce transaction costs and speed, and will enable developers to issue NFTs and fan tokens, create DeFi products, and P2E games.
«Developed in collaboration with Ankr, a leading provider of decentralised infrastructure, CC2 is EVM-compatible, and gas costs are 200 times cheaper than Ethereum. CC2 also offers high transaction throughput», the statement said.
After the launch of CC2 on the mainnet, the company’s native token CHZ will be bridged to this blockchain. Currently the asset trades on Ethereum and Binance Chain networks.
In an interview with Decrypt, Chiliz’s chief strategy officer Max Rabinovich said that the company has always planned to build around Socios an ecosystem that would enable brands and developers to create products based on CHZ.
Chief Technology Officer Thibo Pelletier said CC2 was built on BNB Chain technology. He noted there was no need to design a new network from scratch, as Ankr is well acquainted with the features of this infrastructure.
Earlier in March 2022, the legendary footballer Lionel Messi signed a three-year promotional agreement for the Socios fan-token platform. The deal was worth $20 million.
