Stability AI launches free ChatGPT-like alternative

Stability AI has opened access to the Stable Chat chatbot, which is positioned as a free alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT by Sam Altman.

The tool is still in testing. It is built on the recently released AI language model Stable Beluga.

Anyone can use the neural network on the project’s site, after registering. It supports most languages, including Russian.

The developers warned that the chatbot’s primary purpose is to aid in gathering data for the company’s AI technology development. Users can report bugs directly through the bot’s interface.

Stable Chat has been designed to be as ethical as possible. However, it may occasionally generate offensive responses, the company warned.

Alongside the new product, Stability AI expanded its lineup of free services. The project has already released the AI image generator Stable Diffusion, as well as Stable Doodle for creating illustrations. Later the company consolidated these tools on the StableStudio platform.
