The main changes include:
- an upgrade to the Accelerator for the mainnet, aimed at enhancing stability under high loads and reducing resource consumption when interacting with the network;
- new tools for validators designed to simplify node operators’ tasks. This includes MyTonCtrl functionality for software recovery and quick server transfer, Telegram bots for status and penalty notifications, a web panel with current information, and improved support processes. Additionally, penalties for improper operation will be strengthened;
- a new version of the Toncenter API with improved tracing, tracking, and analysis of transaction chains. Users will be able to emulate operations like swaps for preliminary outcome assessment;
- enhancements to the user interface with input from teams of leading ecosystem projects, including DeDust, MyTonWallet, TonScan.org, ton.diamonds, and Stakee;
- the launch of a second-layer payment network capable of supporting operations for 500 million active clients;
- exploration of sidechains—separate chains based on TON with a small set of validators. Such networks, focused on specific use cases, will be created by third-party projects;
- the release of the TOLK 1.0 programming language with structures, templates, and smart contract interfaces;
- improvements to development tools IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code Plugin, and integration of TOLK support in Blueprint;
- facilitation of the launch of the cross-chain solution TON BTC Teleport by RSquad for transferring bitcoins into and out of the ecosystem.
Other initiatives include:
- a series of contests for application developers;
- standardization of mnemonics for TON wallets;
- implementation of pre-compilation of Jetton FunC contracts and a unified test suite for libraries.
Earlier, Telegram banned the creation of Web3 applications on networks other than TON, following an agreement with the TON Foundation, which is responsible for the ecosystem’s development.
By the end of 2024, the blockchain project team reported 36.2 million crypto wallets created. The number of Toncoin token holders exceeded 100 million, with up to 40 million accounts showing monthly activity.
