Visa begins hiring programmers for its 'ambitious' crypto initiative

The payments giant Visa announced it is hiring developers for its cryptocurrency division, according to head of the division Cuy Sheffield.

We have an ambitious roadmap for Visa’s crypto product, and we have just opened a search for senior software engineers to help us achieve mainstream adoption of blockchain networks and settlements in stablecoins,” he wrote.

In addition to developers, the company is seeking people with experience in building highly available and scalable server systems, passionate about Web3 technologies.

According to the job listing vacancy, candidates should understand the features of first- and Layer-2 networks, and be able to write smart contracts in Solidity.

Earlier this year, Visa CEO Alfred Kelly stated that blockchain-based solutions would be integrated into the company’s services to support next-generation payments.

Back in February, the cryptocurrency platform Wirex signed an agreement with the payments giant to issue debit and prepaid cards.
