The National Football League (NFL) has banned teams from advertising cryptocurrencies and ICO, selling NFT, and also entering into contracts with Bitcoin exchanges. The Athletic reports.
According to the publication, the NFL plans to develop its own rules for teams’ interactions with crypto industry companies.
Teams were also prohibited from entering into advertising contracts and promoting any goods and services related to blockchain and digital assets, the source said.
In April, it became known, that Kansas City Chiefs player Sean Culkin would be the first in the NFL to receive his 2021 salary of $920,000 in Bitcoin.
Back in June, NFL star Tom Brady became an investor and ambassador of the cryptocurrency-derivatives exchange FTX.
Earlier, for 19 years renamed the Miami Heat’s arena to FTX Arena, entered into a five-year deal with Major League Baseball and signed a seven-year contract with the creator of League of Legends.
