Fraudsters lured a resident of Novotroitsk out of 154,000 rubles when he sought to invest in cryptocurrencies.

As reported by a local publication, the man was contacted by phone and urged to make money on a crypto exchange. He was advised to register on a trading platform and deposit at least $1,500.

To receive a bonus, he was also advised to purchase cryptocurrency in one of the Telegram channels. After the transaction, the promised assets never arrived in his account.

Law enforcement authorities have opened a criminal case for fraud.
