Osmosis token price hits new high above $10

In the early hours of January 17, the Cosmos-based decentralised exchange Osmosis’s native OSMO token set a new price high above $10.7.

As of writing, OSMO trades around $10.4. In the last 24 hours the coin fell 1.6%, over the week it rose 25.6%, according CoinGecko.

The total value locked (TVL) in the protocol rose above $1.4 billion. The $1 billion mark was surpassed on January 4, 2022 — this, most likely, was aided by Osmosis’s integration with the Terra Bridge cross-chain bridge and high pool yields.

As of writing, Osmosis ranks 11th by TVL in the DeFi Llama rankings.

In early January, Bitcoin reached a local low at $42,500, dragging digital assets from the top-10 by market capitalization.

On January 7, OSMO and other key Cosmos ecosystem tokens showed notable growth despite the market.
