The number of USDT stablecoin users has surpassed 400 million globally, according to conservative estimates. This was revealed by Tether’s chief, Paolo Ardoino.
Today Tether USDt has (conservatively) more than 400 million users across the world. Soon 1 billion.
We always focused on the adoption from the ground up, working in the streets, among other people, while traditional finance was watching at us from their ivory towers.
That’s…

He added that this figure could soon reach one billion.
According to Ardoino, widespread adoption is occurring due to grassroots efforts and close interaction with users, while traditional financial institutions merely observe from the sidelines.
He also noted that the popularity of stablecoins is growing not only among private investors but also among companies and government entities. Many are already developing or planning to launch their own digital assets.
Ardoino emphasized that such development has been made possible by the technology “created by Tether back in 2014.”
Back in October 2024, he called the company the “best friend” of the US government.
On February 27, Ardoino stated that USDT would become “useless,” and “the world will use only Bitcoin.”
