The author of the bestseller ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ and entrepreneur Robert Kiyosaki compared CBDC in the United States to the character in George Orwell’s novel ‘1984’ and urged investors to buy the first cryptocurrency.

The idea of launching a digital dollar has faced criticism from politicians. In February, Congressman Tom Emmer introduced a bill to protect ‘financial privacy’ in the use of central-bank digital currency.

Later he stated that the CBDC technology offends American values and may contribute to ‘financial control’ over citizens.

In April, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz called the launch of the digital dollar ‘extremely dangerous’ for society, as the government would gain access to every transaction. He also praised Bitcoin and spoke about his investments in the asset.

As reported in September 2022, Kiyosaki urged people to invest in digital assets ahead of an economic crisis.

In spring 2023, the investor called Bitcoin ‘the people’s money’ and predicted its price would rise to $100,000.
