Robinhood to open access to crypto wallet for one million users

The online broker Robinhood will provide access to its own non-custodial Web3 wallet to one million users from the waitlist.

In September 2022, 10,000 people, the first to sign up for early access to the iOS app, were able to test its beta version.

According to Robinhood’s General Manager of Crypto Products, Johanna Kerbrat, the team, based on feedback, has made a number of improvements to the wallet.

In the Layer-2 solution Polygon app, support for Ethereum and NFT has been added. Through the wallet users can operate more than 50 tokens including COMP, MATIC, SHIB, SOL, UNI, USDC and others. Users can also connect to various dapps.

The company will distribute access codes over the next several weeks. After downloading and installing the app, customers will receive a $5 bonus in cryptocurrency.

Kerbrat noted that the opportunity to join the waitlist remains open.

Back in July 2021, ahead of the company’s IPO, co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev described digital assets as the cornerstone of Robinhood’s future development.
