Samsung integrates NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway into smart TVs

Samsung held a presentation of new televisions with an integrated non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. They also include features for storing digital artworks and their optimised display on screen.

The new capabilities are supported by the Neo QLED and QLED series televisions. The NFT app runs on the Nifty Gateway platform. The project’s co-founders, Duncan and Griffin Foster, participated in a video presentation of Samsung’s new products.

They noted that, with the new features, “the NFT purchasing process will be easier than ever.” In addition, TV users will gain access to artworks hosted on Nifty Gateway. The devices support optimisation and rendering of NFT images to match the screen size.

In its own press release, representatives of Nifty Getaway clarified that payment for NFTs via the TV could be made with cryptocurrencies or by card. After purchase, the tokens can be stored in the platform’s Omnibus wallet.

Earlier in 2022, Samsung announced the integration of NFT technology into its new devices. Previously, the company added its own crypto wallet to most Galaxy devices.
