Suspects identified in 2-million-ruble mining-device theft in Irkutsk region

Law enforcement in the Irkutsk region charged four local residents with the theft of mining equipment. The case is reported by the local investigative directorate.

According to investigators, in September the offenders broke into a container in the village of Granovshchina and stole cryptocurrency mining devices valued at about 2 million rubles.

\n\n\n\n

Two of the suspects were under the age of 18. The organizer promised to pay the accomplices for the theft.

\n\n\n\n

Authorities seized about twenty mining devices.

\n\n\n\n

A criminal case has been opened for theft on a large scale, carried out by a group acting in concert with unlawful entry into the premises.

\n\n\n\n

The organizer was placed under house arrest; the others remain under a travel ban.

\n\n\n\n

Earlier in Irkutsk region, two suspects in the theft of ASIC miners were detained.
