Syscoin developers unveil Optimistic-rollups-based scaling solution
The Syscoin blockchain platform team has developed a scaling solution for Rollux, the second layer, based on Optimistic Rollups technology. ForkLog was told this by its representatives.
\”Rollux will offer projects operating on the platform natively or via a bridge a scaling solution they need to deliver Web 3.0 services,\” the statement said.
The Syscoin Layer-1 network combines the capabilities of the EVM for deploying decentralized applications and smart contracts with merged Bitcoin mining to secure the network.
According to the project’s roadmap, the second layer was planned to use ZK-Rollups technology. However, in the Syscoin team’s view, it will take several more years to reach the required maturity level.
\”The recently renewed interest in security and scalability aspects has compelled us to turn to this technology even though we strongly believe in ZK-Rollups,\” said lead developer Jagdeep Sidhu.
According to Syscoin representatives, the Rollux solution will provide direct EVM equivalence, which Optimistic Rollups on Ethereum do not yet support.
For blockchain-based projects, the team decided to make the Rollux Suite toolkit a non-commercial product.
In January 2020, the Syscoin Bridge protocol was launched, providing compatibility with the Ethereum blockchain.
