
TikTok announces NFT-collection release
Popular service TikTok announced the release of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with participation of popular content creators. This is stated on the project’s website.
The Top Moments collection will include six “culturally significant TikTok videos” from Lil Nas X, Bella Poarch, Rudy Willingham, Curtis Roach, Gary Vaynerchuk, Brittany Broski and others.
They will also collaborate with Coin Artist, x0r, RTFKT and singer Grimes to create additional limited NFT series.
The tokens will be issued on the Ethereum blockchain and run on Immutable X’s layer-2 scaling solution. Proceeds from sales will go to the creators and artists.
The launch is scheduled for October 6. The six unique videos will be presented at an exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York from October 1 to November 5.
Earlier, the TV channel Piatnitsa! put up for sale the first video of actress and television host Larisa Guzeeva on TikTok as an NFT.
At the end of September, fintech Ripple announced a $250 million fund for digital artists and developers in the NFT space.
Earlier in the same month, it was announced that the National Football League and the startup Dapper Labs were planning to launch an NFT marketplace.
