Tinkoff Rebrands as T-Bank, Acquires Telegram Username for 20,000 TON

Tinkoff Bank has rebranded, adopting the name T-Bank. For its Telegram channel, the company purchased the corresponding username on the Fragment platform.

The transaction took place in April, with @tbank acquired for 20,000 TON (approximately $105,000 at the time of the transaction).

The previous owner had paid 104 TON for this username.

At the time of writing, the T-Bank Telegram channel boasts 289,570 subscribers.

The company plans a gradual brand update. Initially, this will affect the website and app, followed by all legal names, card and ATM designs, and envelope branding.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that the Telegram username @dodopizza was put up for sale for 155,555 TON, while representatives of the namesake pizzeria chain filed a lawsuit against the messenger in an attempt to secure ownership of the lot.

Alongside 35 other Russian banks, Tinkoff is under US sanctions.

On March 28, the Bank of Russia granted the company a license for the issuance of DFAs.
