Trump Discusses Bitcoin's Future in the US and Reveals His Preferred Currency

Former US President and Republican Party leader Donald Trump, in a conversation with Fox News, stated that the current development of Bitcoin will require authorities to introduce specific regulations.

According to him, the first cryptocurrency has already “taken on a life of its own.”

“Many people are accepting it. I see more and more people wanting to pay with Bitcoin, which is interesting. Some regulation will probably be needed. But I think I could coexist with it,” Trump noted.

However, the politician is not yet inclined to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment in the US.

“I’ve always liked one currency… I like the dollar,” he emphasized.

Earlier, Trump promised to prevent the launch of a CBDC in the US if elected. He pointed to the risks of “debanking and the emergence of political weapons” that would accompany the introduction of a digital dollar.

According to the analytical platform Arkham Intelligence, in January 2024, cryptocurrencies worth a total of $2.65 million were held at the politician’s address.

Back in December last year, the former US president released another series of NFTs, this time featuring his prison photo.
