UEFA digitalises Euro 2020 top-scorer awards on the blockchain

UEFA digitalises Euro 2020 top-scorer awards on the blockchain

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has issued digital copies of the top scorers’ awards from the 2020 European Championship on the AntChain blockchain.

The awards are conferred on the players who scored the most goals in the tournament. The top three in the ranking were Cristiano Ronaldo, Patrik Schick, and Karim Benzema.

The digital versions on the blockchain will accompany the physical trophies as part of UEFA’s collaboration with payments company Alipay.

In February 2020, the Italian football club Juventus released collectible digital cards featuring some of its players, including Cristiano Ronaldo.

Back in June 2021, the Portugal national football team, in which the Euro 2020 top scorer plays, launched fan tokens on the blockchain platform of Chiliz.
