
Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation reports CryptoPunks NFT sale for 90 ETH
Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said that an NFT from the CryptoPunks collection sold for 90 ETH (over $104,000 at the time of writing).
The CryptoPunk #5364 token was donated to the Ukrainian crypto fund in March 2022. At the time, the DeepNFTvalue service valued the asset at 78.8 ETH.
The buyer of the NFT is unknown.
Through non-fungible tokens the crypto community is actively supporting Ukraine in wartime.
In March, the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT project team donated more than $1 million in Ethereum to help the country.
In April, the Ukrainian charity Turn Back Alive received $250,000 from the sale of a popular Coffin Dance meme NFT, and the Freedom to Ukraine project launched a fundraiser for humanitarian aid to Ukraine through NFT sales.
On the Binance marketplace several NFT collections were launched, the proceeds from their sale will be directed to help residents of the country.
Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the blockchain community launched an NFT museum of meta-history detailing the chronology of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
