Unknown owners of the Uniswap.com domain automatically redirect users to the site of the decentralised exchange Sushiswap. reports The Block.
Uniswap.com is not affiliated with the real Uniswap exchange page. The trademarks UNISWAP®, UNI™ and UNISWAP LABS™ belong to Uniswap Labs, the company behind the trading platform.
According to the Web Archive, until 2017 the Uniswap.com site hosted an online marketplace for exchanging goods. It had not operated since 2018 and did not resume until early May 2021.
As of now it is unknown who owns the Uniswap.com domain. According to a Sushiswap participant under the handle 0xMaki, the project team did not purchase any domain names, aside from .fi and .org.
Fun, the team didn’t purchase it nor did we purchase any domain names aside from the .fi and .org ones https://t.co/vt9zCn4uPl

This is not the first instance where a competitor site to SushiSwap automatically redirects users to the original decentralized exchange site. In March, a similar traffic redirect was recorded on Pancake.com.
In February, the venture-capital firm Future Fund acquired the domain sushi.com for DEX SushiSwap. It is configured to redirect from the domains sushiswap.fi and sushiswapclassic.org.
In March 2021, attackers gained access to the domain-name system of a number of projects built on the Binance Smart Chain to inject malicious elements into their interfaces. Among the affected platforms were PancakeSwap and Cream Finance.
